Best. Anniversery. Present. EVER!

Today is my first wedding anniversery to my wonderful wife. She isn’t feeling the best, and her “monthly friend” is a week late. This isn’t a big surprise, as we had been trying for about 6 months to get pregnant, and after being on the pill for years to control her cycle, her periods were very erratic. We had been positive we were knocked up 3 times in the last 6 months, and had given up for the year. Lynn is a teacher, you see, a substitute hoping to get a contract, and we had been hoping to have our first child sometime near the end of the school year, giving her a couple of months with the kid before having to go back to work. So we had given up officially trying, since getting pregnant NOW would entail a kid born at the very beginning of the school year, which would make my wife getting a teaching contract a lot more difficult.

So, I kissed my wife goodbye for the day, and she told me she was going to take a pregnancy test, left over from previous attempts. I patted her on the head, told her that there was no way, but go ahead, and headed to work.

So you can imagine my surprise to get a phone call ten minutes later. “ITS POSITIVE ITS POSITIVE!”

Yup, the moment we stopped “trying”, my wife gets pregnant. Typical. But hey, I’m not going to complain!
